Answer this if u can . . .

A Japanese ship sailing in Pacific Ocean. Japanese captain of the ship going to take a shower. He kept his diamond chain and Rolex watch in the table shelf and went for shower and returns in 10 mins.

Now listen carefully….

When he returns both chain and watch is missing???????

He called the crews in the ship. There were four of them.

1. A Britain guy. He the cook in the ship. Captain asked where were you last 10 mins. He answered “I was in the cold room to select the meat for the lunch.”

2. A Srilankan guy. Captain repeats same question. He was the house keeping guy and he informed that he was at the top of the ship correcting the flag which was upside down.

3. A Indian guy: again same question. He was an engineer maintains the ship. He told the he was in generator room checking the generator.

4. A French guy. Same question repeats here also. He was also a house keeping Crew. He told I was sleeping after the night shift.

With in 10 secs captain caught the thief. How and who is the thief?

How many handshakes in African-US summit ?

During the African-US summit last year, 10 presidents left the conference room and greeted one another. Assuming no 2 presidents repeatedly greeted themselves, how many total handshakes were effected?

Answer is 45 handshakes. The first president greeted 9 presidents, the second 8 and so on, so 9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1. This gives 45 handshakes.

in permutations and combinations way
A handshake is possible with two people, so it is similar to How many ways you can select two people out of 10.

i.e. 10C2 = 10!/(8!*2!) = 9*10/2 = 45

There is four digit number in aabb form and it is a perfect square. Find out the number.

We can expand aabb as

=> 1000a + 100a + 10b + b
= 1100a + 11b = 11(100a + b)

for 11(100a +b) to be a perfect square 100a + b should be a multiple of 11 where a and b both are integers and single digit numbers.

lets say 100a + b = 11y, here y should also be a perfect square (such that 11*11*y is a perfect square), i.e. 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36

If you try to solve this, where a and b are single digit integers and y is also a perfect square, you can see one possible values of a and b are 7 and 4, where y = 64.

Thus the number should be 7744, it is a perfect square of 88.

First number is 10, then next number is 10 + 1^2 =>11
next number 11 + 2^3 => 19

A bunch of men are on an island, A genie comes down and gathers everyone together and places a magical hat on some people’s heads (i e , at least one person has a hat). The hat is magical: it can be seen by other people, but not by the wearer of the hat himself. To remove the hat, those (and only those who have a hat) must dunk themselves underwater at exactly midnight. If there are n people and c hats, how long does it take the men to remove the hats? The men cannot tell each other (in any way) that they have a hat.
Note: Genie does not tell how many hats she has put.
