Lonnie is taking the train to the Library. He tells Rosti the hour of his train’s departure and he tells Ann at which minute it leaves. He also tells them both that the train leaves between 0600 and 1000.

They consult the timetable and find the following services between those two time: 0632 0643 0650 0717 0746 0819 0832 0917 0919 0950

Rosti then says “I don’t know when Lonnie’s train leaves but i am sure that neither does Ann”

Ann Replies “I didn’t know his train, but now i do”

Rosti responds “Now I do as well!”

Cars Math Puzzle – How many cars in the parking ?

One-tenth of the cars in a car park are yellow. Another car arrives and now one-ninth of the cars are yellow.

How many cars are now in the car park?

lets say there are total x cars, thus
x/10 number of cars are yellow initially.

as yellow car’s percent increases from 1/10th to 1/9th after new car arrives, so new car must be a yellow car.
So we can form this equation

1 + x/10 = (x+1)/9

Now we just need to solve this equation
on multiplying both sides by 9*10 =>
9*10 + 9x = 10x + 10
90 – 10 = 10x – 9x
x = 80

So there were 8 yellow cars initially among a total of 80 cars(i.e. 1/10th)
and a new yellow cars comes making 9 yellow cars in total of 81 cars.(i.e. 1/9th)

So answer to the question is 81. there are a total of 81 cars now.

How many filled bottles can be collected?

A shopkeeper gives a full bottle of soft drink in return for five empty bottles. A guy has 77 empty bottles and he can use them to get full soft drink bottles.

How many filled bottles will he be able to collect?

15+2 empty bottles=3 filled +2 empty bottles
3+2 empty bottles=1 filled bottle
i.e. total filled bottle are 15+3+1=19

Bar with 25 seats

There is a bar with 25 seats in a line. The people there are anti-social so when they walk in the bar, they always try to find a seat farthest away from others. If one person walks in and find there is no seat are adjacent to nobody, that person will walk away. The bar owner wants as many people as possible. The owner can tell the first customer where to sit. all the other customers will pick the farthest possible seat from others.
So where should the first customer sit?
