Raj, an Indian baker, is pedalling through his beautiful village, humming the “Tamma Tamma Loge” with a basket of fresh baguettes. He is stopped by one of his costumers Tina , who buys half his baguettes plus another half baguette. Then his neighbour Ramya stops him and does the same – she buys half of Raj’s stock and a further half baguette. Finally a young boy, Vatsal repeats the order – half of Raj’s bread plus half a baguette more. Raj is delighted – he has sold all his bread, and yet he has not had to break a baguette. Can you work out how this is possible and how many baguettes he must have started with?
