    117, it’s a mathematical impossibility for 117 to EQUAL 79. The equality sign, or “=” is a mathematical symbol used to indicate equality. The equals sign is placed between two quantities that have the same value. This is a flagrant misuse of the “=” sign, mathematicians would cringe. They should use something else.

      It’s not a math problem. It’s a logic problem that happens to involve some math. The “=” means “is used to produce”.

        if f(x)=y, then f(x)=11x-1208, therefore f(117)=79.
