I will take half tablet of each tablet. Thus i will end up having 1 fever and 1 cold tablets.

simple water test.. fever tablet contains paracetamol (disprin).. fizzes and dissolves in water.. cold tablet(d cold total) isnt as much reactive..
half tablet will not solve the problem. How can you make sure that the half you take is from both tablet?. There could be chances that you are taking half from two fever tablets.
We are taking half of all four tablets, so it should be fine ?

Solution accepted although the puzzle asked us to choose the tablet. That sentence might be replaced by a better one to make puzzle more technically sound.
