Disagree completely! This question is more subjective than objective. Overtaking the second person can simply mean you overtook 2 people. Notice that the question does not say place or position which are strictly objective. The puzzle does not indicate how many people were in the race so in this “riddle” the answer can be any of the three choices. In a 5 person race the answer could be 3rf, 4 person 2nd and 3 person 1st. To say “do not over think it” is just silly and very lazy.
